Meet Paul
My Official Executive Profile
Â
I spent a 25-year career in sales, professional development and senior leadership within a variety of high-performing organizations. Today, I am an executive coach with over 3,000 hours of private coaching since launching my private practice in 2012.Â
In addition to my work in leadership, teamwork, and culture, I am active in human performance domains like athletics and music. And I am on staff as the mental game coach for one of the largest golf instruction companies in the U.S. where I have helped thousands of golfers to think in more productive ways about the game.
I recently published my first book: The Most Important Game: Play Better. Struggle Less. Enjoy More. (Reflections from a mental game coach to inspire fresh thinking and more fun playing the game you love.)Â
Additionally, I grew up as an undersized, but determined hockey player, barely made it through college, completely over-married, and am a proud dad to three amazing young men.
My Back Story
Â
When I was eleven, my dad passed away from a sudden heart attack. My mom was 41. She had seven kids between the ages of 1 and 13. We missed dad terribly, and his passing left a big void in our family.
But God blessed us with a mom who was strong, smart, and determined to create a stable and productive life for all of us. Through those early years, - and beyond - I experienced the generosity and mentorship of many, which I believe ultimately influenced the career path I would gravitate towards.
My interest in engaging with others and fulfilling needs ultimately led me to a career in sales, leadership and training - which I loved.Â
In 1993, my wife Paula and I bought a Successories franchise. (You know; the decorative wall decor with the aspirational messages like Teamwork, Attitude…etc.) And while the business model for that store did not work for us, the experience only heightened my interest in personal and professional development.
Years later, I met an executive coach who explained her business model to me. I remember thinking THIS was what I wanted to be when I grew up!
In 2012 I launched my coaching practice and have never looked back.
Today I am fortunate to serve clients in some of my favorite performance spaces like executive leadership, golf, music, and more. More importantly, I meet the most amazing people and clients, who do more to inspire me on my own journey than they would ever know.
Â
My Philosophy
Â
In the years after my dad passed, I saw so many examples in my life of generosity, kindness, love and compassion towards me, my mom and my brothers and sisters. I don’t think I realized it then, but it formed a values framework in me that has been a part of my life philosophy ever since.
My family is central to what I focus on, as is my faith. Both have helped me to form who I am today. (I have an amazing wife and we have three fantastic young men in our lives!) When I’m at my best, I lead and engage with Love, Compassion, Kindness and Joy.
I believe that we are all on a journey towards becoming something more than we are today. Maybe it’s becoming more loving. Or more impactful. Or more skilled. Or more inspirational.Â
Whatever it is, my goal is to help you on your path, and to allow the light inside of you to shine brightly so that you can realize your potential today, tomorrow, and beyond.Â
